In the village of Biskovychi in the Sambir district, a woman born in 1957 died in a residential house fire.
A report of a fire in a one-storey brick house was received by the Rescue Service “101” on 26 July at 02:23. Firefighters from the 12th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Sambir and staff from the local fire brigade in the village of Voyutychi responded to the call.
By the time the rescuers arrived, the roof of the building was completely engulfed in flames, and there was a risk of the fire spreading to nearby buildings. While extinguishing the fire, they discovered inside the house the body of the deceased woman who lived in the property.
The fire was contained at 02:42 and fully extinguished at 03:57, preventing the flames from spreading to two neighbouring structures — a residential house and an outbuilding.
To extinguish the fire, 4 rescuers and 1 unit of special equipment from the State Emergency Service were deployed, as well as 2 staff members and 1 unit of equipment from the local fire brigade. Specialists are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire.
