
In the village of Lisove in Zolochiv district, a fire broke out in a single-storey wooden summer kitchen, during which firefighters carried two ginger kittens out of the smoke-filled room.
The report of the fire reached the Rescue Service “101” at 23:44 on 11 July. Before the firefighters arrived, local residents tried to extinguish the flames themselves, but the fire had already spread to the roof and the building’s ceiling structures.
While searching inside the structure, the firefighters heard meowing and quickly carried two cats outside, saving their lives. At the same time, they were working to extinguish the fire and protect neighbouring buildings.
The fire was contained at 01:03 and fully extinguished at 01:51. Firefighters managed to save two neighbouring buildings from the flames. Fire crews from the town of Brody and the local fire team from the village of Komarivka were involved in tackling the blaze.
No people were injured as a result of the incident. The cause of the fire is being established by specialists.
