A fire broke out in the village of Liubelia in Lviv district, during which two residential houses caught fire. The blaze was extinguished through the joint efforts of State Emergency Service firefighters and local fire brigades.
The Rescue Service “101” received a report of a house fire on 10 August at 18:20. Units from the town of Zhovkva and the town of Velyki Mosty responded to the call, as well as staff from the local fire brigades of the villages of Liubelia, Dobrosyn and Turyntsi.
By the time the firefighters arrived, the fire had engulfed a single-storey residential house across its entire area, as well as the roof of a nearby two-storey brick residential building. There was a risk of the flames spreading to neighbouring buildings.
The fire was contained at 20:33 and fully extinguished at 21:49. Firefighters prevented damage to two garages and an outbuilding located nearby.
Six rescuers and two fire engines from the State Emergency Service, as well as four personnel and three appliances from local fire brigades, were involved in tackling the blaze. Specialists are establishing the causes of the fire and the circumstances of the incident.
