In the village of Malyi Doroshiv in Lviv district, an explosive device dating back to the Second World War was discovered in an open area during earthworks.
Specialists established that the find was a 120 mm mortar shell. A community rescue officer was working at the scene, organising the necessary safety measures until the arrival of specialist bomb disposal experts.
The explosive ordnance disposal team of the Special-Purpose Emergency Rescue Unit of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region removed the munition and destroyed it in accordance with established procedure.
Rescuers emphasise that munitions from past wars remain dangerous even decades later. If a suspicious object is found, it is forbidden to touch it, move it or attempt to dismantle it.
Citizens are urged to move to a safe distance and immediately report the find by calling 101 or 102.
