In the village of Popeli in the Drohobych district on 3 August at around 12:15 a road traffic collision occurred involving a VAZ-2109 car and a KAVZ bus. This was reported by the police.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, the collision involved a VAZ-2109 driven by a 68-year-old resident of Boryslav and a KAVZ bus. As a result of the crash, the car driver sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital.
Investigators from police station No.1 of the Drohobych district police department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety rules).
The sanction of this article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
