
In the village of Ravske in Lviv district, at 22:39 on 11 July, a road traffic collision occurred in which a 70-year-old female pedestrian was injured.
According to preliminary police reports, a 41-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Polo, a resident of Rivne region, ran into the woman, a 70-year-old resident of Ravske. The victim was taken to hospital with bodily injuries.
Police established that the driver was in a state of alcohol intoxication. The test result showed 2.10 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system.
On the fact of the collision, investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ imprisonment with disqualification from driving for a period of three to five years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
