
In the village of Semyhyniv in the Stryi district, a man born in 2002 died while relaxing on the River Stryi. The disappearance of a person in the water was reported on 27 June at 22:55.
The next day, 28 June at 12:40, staff of the rescue and diving service discovered the body at a depth of about 2 metres and 0.5 metres from the shore. The deceased was brought ashore and handed over to police officers.
The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region reminds the public of the need to follow water safety rules: do not enter the water in unauthorised places, do not swim while under the influence of alcohol, and do not leave children unattended.
Rescuers stress that water does not forgive carelessness.
