On 29 October at around 12:30 in the village of Tukhlya in the Stryi district, a passenger car, a Mercedes, collided with an electric train at a controlled level crossing. The incident was reported by the Stryi District Police Department.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, the car was driven by a 31-year-old resident of the city of Rivne. As a result of the collision, the driver sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital, where doctors are clarifying the diagnosis.
There were no passengers in the Mercedes. The drivers and passengers of the electric train did not seek medical assistance.
At the scene of the accident, investigators from the department for the investigation of transport-related offences of the investigative division of the Lviv Region Police, an investigative and operational team, and officers from other units of Police Station No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Department are working. Law enforcement officers are establishing the causes and circumstances of the collision and are deciding on the legal classification of the incident.
