The traffic accident happened on April 6, around 1:50 p.m., on the Lviv-Sheghini highway in the village of Tvirzha, Yavoriv district.
As previously determined by law enforcement officers, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz car, a 36-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, ran over two residents of Sudova Vyshna – a 23-year-old woman and her four-year-old son.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrians were injured and taken to intensive care. Despite the efforts of medics, the boy died of his injuries in the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
