A fire at a residential building in the village of Verkhnii Turiv in the Sambir district in the afternoon of 17 July was extinguished by professional firefighters together with the local fire brigade.
The report of the fire reached the Rescue Service “101” at 12:39. The roof of a two-storey cinder block residential building and a wooden extension were on fire. The blaze posed a threat to nearby buildings.
Units from the urban-type settlement of Borynia and the local fire brigade from the village of Verkhnye contained the fire at 13:37 and fully extinguished it at 14:00. The firefighters managed to prevent the complete destruction of the house and stopped the fire spreading to three neighbouring outbuildings.
The operation involved 4 firefighters and 1 unit of special equipment from the State Emergency Service, as well as 2 employees and 1 unit of equipment from the local fire brigade. Specialists are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire.
