The traffic accident happened on January 7 around 12:00 on the highway “Ternopil-Lviv-Rava-Ruska” in the village of Volya-Vysotska, Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, Ford cars, driven by a 19-year-old resident of the city of Novovolynsk, Volyn region, and an Opel Vectra, driven by a 38-year-old resident of Lviv region, collided. As a result of the collision, seven people sought medical help: four residents of Volyn region aged 19 to 58 and three residents of Lviv region – children aged 7, 10 and 11.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
