The traffic accident occurred on April 21, around 7:00 p.m., in the village of Yabluniv, Sambir district.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the “Forte 250” motorcycle, a 34-year-old local resident, ran over a four-year-old boy, a resident of the same village. As a result of the accident, the child received bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
It was established that the motorcycle driver was intoxicated. According to the fact, the investigators of police department No. 2 of the Sambir district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years. Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
