In the village of Zavadiv in Yavoriv district, a fire broke out at night in a farm building, during which firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to a residential house. The incident was reported by the Rescue Service “101”.
The fire was recorded on 4 September at 04:03. The owners of the farm heard unusual noises in the night: the slate on the roof of the burning building began to crack from the high temperature, after which they called the firefighters.
Fire crews from Nemyrov and Yavoriv were dispatched to the scene. By the time they arrived, the roof of the structure was completely engulfed in flames, which were rapidly spreading through the wooden roof structures. Inside the building, about 3 tonnes of hay were burning, and the fire threatened to spread to the residential house and a neighbouring farm building.
Due to heavy smoke, the firefighters worked in breathing and eye protection apparatus. The fire was contained at 04:53 and fully extinguished at 05:48. Six firefighters and two units of specialised equipment were involved in tackling the blaze.
No one was injured as a result of the incident. Specialists are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire.
