The Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office has intensified efforts to return conservation land to the community through judicial mechanisms. This matter concerns 5 hectares of the nature reserve area of Berekavytsia Hill in the village of Zavadiv, which were leased in 2008 for the construction of a cultural and sports complex.
However, despite planning, construction never began, and the tenant consistently failed to pay rent, which has now exceeded 1.6 million UAH. According to prosecutors, the plot remained unoccupied for over 18 years, leading to its degradation and overgrowth by woodland.
To resolve the situation, the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit to terminate the lease agreement, return the land plot to community ownership, and recover all debts. Court hearings on this issue have already commenced.
