In the city of Sheptytskyi, a fire broke out in a flat in a nine-storey residential building, during which the owner of the dwelling, born in 1948, died.
According to the rescuers, at 14:08 on 29 September the Rescue Service received a report of smoke coming from a flat on the first floor of a multi-flat building in Sheptytskyi.
After arriving at the scene, firefighters found heavy smoke in the home on the first floor of the nine-storey building. Because of this, they worked in eye and respiratory protection apparatus.
During the search of the flat, they found the body of the owner, born in 1948. There was also a bed on fire over an area of 1 sq. m inside the premises. The fire was contained at 07:33 and fully extinguished at 07:46.
Eight rescuers and two units of equipment were involved in tackling the blaze. Specialists are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire.
