Cyclist killed by car in Lviv region – police establish circumstances of incident
The accident occurred on 24 October at 19.30 in the town of Stanyn, Sheptytskyi district.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Suzuki, a 50-year-old resident of a village in Sheptytskyi district, hit a cyclist, a 68-year-old resident of the district.
The driver of the two-wheeler died at the scene from the injuries sustained in the accident.
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Region Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the Road Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
