
In the early hours of May 25, a grenade exploded in the yard of a private household in the Sheptytskyi district of Lviv region. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m., prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.
Upon arrival, investigators, criminal police officers, explosives experts, and other specialists from the Sheptytskyi Police Department examined the scene. It was determined that a grenade had detonated; the specific type and origin of the explosive are still under investigation.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the explosion. However, the blast caused damage to a nearby parked car and shattered the windows of a nearby residence.
Following the incident, investigators initiated a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to hooliganism. This article carries a penalty of three to seven years in prison.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, and police are actively working to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for the explosion.
