
In Sheptytsky, police detained a 44-year-old man who stabbed a passerby. The incident occurred on 20th May at around 00:40 on Bandera Street.
The criminal police and investigators were present at the scene. The offender initiated a conflict with a 38-year-old local resident and inflicted a knife wound to his leg, after which he fled the scene.
The victim was hospitalised with a deep cut wound to the upper thigh. The police swiftly determined the location of the attacker and detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The detainee was charged with hooliganism according to Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code, which carries a sentence of three to seven years of imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing, and a preventive measure in the form of detention with the option of bail has been applied to the suspect.
