25-Year-Old Arrested in Slavske for Cannabis Trafficking

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Slavske on suspicion of illegal cannabis trafficking. Under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, he has been notified of suspicion regarding the illegal acquisition, storage for the purpose of sale, and sale of narcotic substances, committed repeatedly.

According to the investigation, in February this year, the suspect acquired the narcotic substance ‘cannabis’ for further sale and stored it at his residence. At the end of February, he sold over 3 grams of cannabis to a local resident for more than 2,000 UAH. In March, the man sold the drug again in the same locality for 2,000 UAH.

During a search of his residence, law enforcement officers seized cash obtained from illegal sales, as well as electronic scales. At the request of the prosecution, the suspect has been remanded in custody. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of Police Department No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Directorate of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region. Investigative actions are ongoing, and all circumstances are being established.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court’s guilty verdict.
