A Sokal resident, Tatiana Fedotova, shared an emotional social media post about a troubling incident at the city’s central cemetery.
A few days after her last visit to her parents’ graves, she returned only to find several nearby concrete headstones had toppled, despite previously standing intact.
According to her, no strong winds or severe weather had occurred during the days between visits that could explain the destruction. While walking home, she counted at least seven broken gravestones, raising concerns about possible foul play.
Tatiana suspects that the damage may not have been accidental. Instead, she speculates that someone could be deliberately clearing gravesites, possibly in preparation for new burials. The situation has sparked concern among locals, who are calling for immediate action.
Residents are urging local authorities to inspect security conditions and review surveillance footage at the cemetery. They are demanding an investigation to determine whether the incident was a result of vandalism, neglect, or premeditated actions.
