The detainee faces up to eight years in prison.
On March 31, at about 1:30 a.m., police received a report from medics that a 61-year-old patient had been taken to hospital with a diagnosis of cerebral coma, intracerebral hemorrhage, and other injuries.
The investigative task force and other employees of the Chervonohrad District Police Department №2 immediately left the victim’s place of residence. According to the measures taken, law enforcement officers established that a 22-year-old resident of Sokal was involved in the crime – the night before, at about 10 pm, he brutally beat a neighbor during the conflict.
In fact, investigators of the territorial police department opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
The malefactor was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a measure of restraint for him.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
