The traffic accident happened on November 28, around 5:30 p.m., on Ukrainska Street in Sokal.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Chevrolet Bolt, a 36-year-old resident of Ternopil, hit two local residents – men aged 44 and 50, who were crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrians were injured and taken to a medical facility.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police of Lviv Oblast opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
