In Stebnyk, police promptly detained an offender who had inflicted fatal stab wounds to an acquaintance
Law enforcement officers established that during the conflict, the detainee stabbed his victim five times and fled the scene. He faces up to fifteen years in prison for his crime.
Today, on 22 June, at 03.30, the 102 operational line received a report from paramedics that a man with multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest had been found on Yaroslav Mudryi Street in Stebnyk. Despite the efforts of the medics, he died.
The investigative team and forensic experts from the Drohobych District Police Department were working at the scene. Law enforcers identified the deceased as a local resident aged 24, who had five stab wounds on his body.
Criminal police operatives, investigators and officers of other services of the territorial police unit were involved in solving the crime. The investigation established that the victim had been stabbed to death by a 21-year-old local resident during a conflict and then fled.
Law enforcers promptly established the offender’s location and detained him in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators of the territorial police unit opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 115 (Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for a sentence of imprisonment for a term of seven to fifteen years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
