In the city of Stryi on Novakivskoho Street, a fire broke out in a flat in a nine-storey residential building. The fire started in the kitchen on the eighth floor, and the call to the rescuers came in on 10 June at 18:56.
According to the owner of the flat, the gas cooker caught fire. The man tried to extinguish the flames himself, but this did not work. Due to heavy smoke, residents of neighbouring flats went outside for fresh air on their own before the firefighters arrived.
Firefighters from Stryi contained the fire at 19:14, and at 19:18 they fully extinguished the blaze. Household items were burning in the flat over an area of about 10 sq. m.
No one was injured as a result of the incident. Nine rescuers and three units of specialised equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
