Accident in Stryi District: Passenger Injured
A car passenger was injured in a road accident in the Lviv region. Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Details of the Accident
The traffic accident occurred on April 2, around 10:30 PM, in the village of Zarychiya, Stryi district. According to preliminary police findings, the driver of a Ford Focus, a 21-year-old resident of one of the villages in the Stryi district, lost control, drove off the roadway, and collided with a tree.
As a result of the accident, a passenger in the car, an 18-year-old resident of the Stryi district, sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
Investigation
Investigators from Police Department No. 1 of the Stryi District Police Department have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the section is restriction of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
