An Offender Who Attacked a Police Officer in Stryi District Detained
Law enforcement officers have detained a 29-year-old resident of the city of Stryi, who inflicted bodily harm on a police officer during the performance of official duties. He faces a penalty of restriction or imprisonment for up to five years.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred on February 16 at around 8:30 PM in one of the villages of Stryi district. Police patrol officers arrived at the call in a service vehicle. While processing materials, they were approached by an intoxicated man who suddenly struck one of the officers in the face with his head, causing bodily injuries.
The offender was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators informed him of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 345 (Threat or Violence Against a Law Enforcement Officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for a punishment of up to five years of restriction of liberty or imprisonment for the same period.
Pre-trial investigation continues, and the court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect – 24-hour house arrest.
