
On the Kyiv–Chop motorway in Stryi on 2 August a road traffic collision occurred in which two pedestrians were injured. This was reported by the Stryi District Police Department.
At around 14:10, according to preliminary police information, a 26-year-old woman driving a Volkswagen Passat, a resident of Stryi district, hit two local residents – an 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrians sustained bodily injuries and were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators of the Stryi District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years of restricted liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
