On Bazarna Street in Stryi, a road traffic collision occurred in which an 86-year-old cyclist was injured. This was reported by the Stryi District Police Department.
The collision happened on 3 November at around 11:10. According to preliminary police findings, a Ford Focus driven by a 24-year-old resident of Stryi collided with a bicycle ridden by an 86-year-old local resident.
As a result of the collision, the elderly cyclist sustained bodily injuries and was taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Investigators from the Stryi District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
