Two Second World War artillery shells recovered from a pond in Sukhovolia, Lviv region

In the village of Sukhovolia in Lviv district, two 76 mm artillery shells dating back to the Second World War were discovered in a local pond that had shallowed. The report about the dangerous find reached rescuers on 17 August at 08:26.

A request was submitted at the scene for the removal and disposal of the explosive objects. A pyrotechnic team from the Lviv Mobile Rapid Response Rescue Centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine removed the shells and destroyed them in the prescribed manner.

Rescuers emphasise: if you discover an object that looks like ammunition, do not touch or move it, step back to a safe distance and immediately report the find by calling 101 or 102.
