
In Lviv, an indictment has been submitted to court against a 20-year-old Lviv resident suspected of illegally selling excisable goods in a vape products shop in the city centre. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, for a certain period the woman worked in one of the shops where she illegally sold kits for self-mixing liquids for electronic cigarettes. Experts established that this product contained nicotine and was subject to mandatory excise tax labelling.
During an authorised search of the shop, law enforcement officers discovered and seized more than 500 nicoboosters for refilling electronic cigarettes without excise stamps, as well as glycerine and flavourings of various brands.
The Lviv resident is charged with illegal storage and sale of excisable products without excise tax stamps under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Lviv Region with operational support from the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Lviv Region.
Pursuant to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt has been proven in accordance with the law and established by a guilty verdict of a court.
