A tragic road traffic accident occurred on 25 March at around 21:40 near the village of Velyki Hrybovychi in the Lviv district. The driver of a Citroen Nemo, a 37-year-old resident of Lviv, struck a 62-year-old pedestrian, a resident of the Lviv district.
As a result of the injuries sustained, the pedestrian died at the scene. Investigators from the Lviv police’s transport crime investigation department have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with a possible deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers continue to establish the circumstances of the incident.
