
Car Hits Pedestrian in Lviv Region
A pedestrian was injured in the Lviv region as a result of a car accident – police are investigating the circumstances.
Details of the Traffic Accident
The traffic accident occurred on March 19, around 7:30 PM, in the town of Velyki Mosty, Sheptytskyi district.
Preliminary findings by law enforcement indicated that the driver of a Hyundai i40, a 48-year-old resident of Sheptytskyi, hit a pedestrian, a 59-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
Investigation and Legal Consequences
Investigators from police department No. 2 of the Sheptytskyi district police department have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is up to three years of restriction of liberty, with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement is establishing the circumstances of the incident.
