In the village of Volosyanka in Stryi district, a 29-year-old steel fixer died after falling from a height while carrying out construction work. This was reported under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
According to preliminary data, the incident occurred yesterday at around 15:00 at a site of an unfinished construction project. A local resident was installing metal structures on the fifth-floor level, from where he fell from a height of more than 18 metres.
The injuries sustained proved severe, and the man died in hospital the following day.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, as well as identifying those responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements at the construction site.
Information on the incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – breach of safety regulations during high-risk works that resulted in fatalities. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by Police Division No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
