In the town of Vynnyky in Lviv region, an indictment has been submitted to court against a 17-year-old local resident who is accused of stealing takings and equipment from a self-service coffee shop.
According to the investigation, on the night of 15 June the teenager used a knife to break the fastenings of the coffee shop structure, after which he stole an organiser with banknote and coin acceptors, as well as a PAX 20 terminal containing almost 1,800 hryvnias in cash, and fled. The total amount of damage caused to the owner of the establishment exceeds 36,000 hryvnias.
The suspect was identified and exposed by criminal police operatives together with investigators and staff of other units of Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural supervision of the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings opened under Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft) has been completed, and the indictment has been submitted to the court. The offence with which the accused is charged carries a sentence of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
