The road accident occurred on 29 August at 10.20 a.m. on Ivan Franko Street in the town of Vynnyky, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Hyundai Tucson, a 52-year-old Lviv resident, hit an electric scooter driven by a 14-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the girl was injured and hospitalised.
Investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
