The traffic accident occurred on September 12, around 8:00 p.m., in the village of Zhvyrka, Chervonograd district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a cyclist, a 76-year-old resident of Lviv, and a Mercedes Sprinter driven by a 37-year-old resident of Sokal.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the two-wheeler was injured and was hospitalized in intensive care.
According to the fact, the investigators of police department No. 2 of the Chervonograd district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
