In Zolochiv, a Man Threw a Grenade, Police Apprehended

In Zolochiv on 18 May, law enforcement officers arrested a 29-year-old local resident who threw a live hand grenade near a stadium on Karmeluka Street. Fortunately, there were no casualties from the explosion, and the perpetrator fled the scene.

The police quickly ascertained the whereabouts of the suspect and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine. The incident has been classified under Part 4 Article 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a potential sentence of up to seven years’ imprisonment.

Investigations are ongoing, with law enforcement officers determining the origin of the grenade. The Zolochiv District Police Department is handling the case with support from the prosecution authorities.
