In Zolochiv, the police promptly arrested an intruder who robbed a woman on the street

The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

On January 16, around 4:00 p.m., while working on the territory, members of the patrol police response group of the Zolochiv district police department received a report that a 25-year-old local woman had been robbed by an unknown person on Peremogy Street in the city of Zolochiv.

Law enforcement immediately arrived at the scene. As the police established, an unknown man attacked a woman on the street and illegally took possession of the victim’s purse, which contained cash, a mobile phone and other valuables. Not long after, the law enforcement officers found a man involved in the crime not far from the scene.

The investigative and operative group of the territorial division of the police worked on the spot. The police identified the perpetrator, a 25-year-old local resident, and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Physical evidence was taken from him.

According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Zolochiv district prosecutor’s office, opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
