Ukrainian Police Receive Advanced Equipment from Poland for Crash and Crime Documentation

Ukrainian investigators have enhanced their technical capabilities with cutting-edge equipment provided by their Polish counterparts. The new tools include four digital cameras capable of detecting infrared traces such as bloodstains and three total stations for laser-based distance measurements. This technology will enable efficient documentation of complex accidents with abundant evidence and ensure safety when working in mined areas.

The equipment was handed over in Lviv as part of the project “Documenting War Damages for Ukrainian and International Law Enforcement and Justice.” The initiative was led by representatives of the Police Training Center in Legionowo, headed by Michał Białęcki, Director of the Polish Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

Significance of Cooperation

Police Colonel Andrii Kumechko, Deputy Chief of the National Police in the Lviv region, expressed his gratitude for Poland’s assistance:

“Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Poland has played a crucial role in supporting Ukraine. Our officers have undergone training in Poland, and this collaboration yields positive outcomes. The provided equipment will be invaluable for documenting both criminal and war-related offenses. We sincerely thank you for your help!”

Michał Białęcki, Director of the Polish Bureau of Criminal Investigations, emphasized the importance of the new tools:

“This equipment will be instrumental in gathering evidence for criminal cases and documenting war crimes. We look forward to continued collaboration and new joint projects next year. You can always count on the Polish police. We stand with you!”

Training for Ukrainian Officers

In addition to supplying equipment, Polish experts conducted a training session in Kyiv for 15 officers of the National Police of Ukraine. The participants improved their skills in utilizing advanced technologies to identify, record, and analyze forensic evidence.
