As previously established by the police, the boy got under the wheels of a car while riding a sled.
The traffic accident happened today, February 6, at 3:20 p.m. on Sheptytskogo Street in Drohobych.
It was preliminarily established that an eight-year-old boy, a local resident, was sledding down a hill on the territory of the hospital and went onto the road, where he got under the wheels of an ambulance driven by a 65-year-old resident. The boy died from his injuries.
Investigators from the transport crime investigation department of the Lviv Police are working on the spot.
As a matter of fact, criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The punishment provided by the sanction of the article is from three to eight years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
