The traffic accident happened on September 7, around 4:00 p.m., on the Kovel-Zhovkva highway in the village of Hirnyk.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of a VAZ car, a 74-year-old resident of Chervonograd, collided with a Yamaha RJ 07 motorcycle, which was driven by a 25-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district. Despite the efforts of the medics, the motorcyclist died in the hospital from injuries sustained as a result of the accident.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years, – reports the Police of the Lviv region.
