The traffic accident happened on December 24 at 11:20 p.m. on the Ternopil-Lviv-Rava-Ruska highway in Kulykiv village, Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Audi car, a 30-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, hit a pedestrian, a 32-year-old resident of the city of Dublyana. The man died from his injuries at the scene.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
