The road traffic accident occurred on July 18 at 8:35 AM at the intersection of Dovzhenko Boulevard and Taras Shevchenko Avenue in the city of Novy Rozdil.
Preliminarily established by the police, a Mazda 2, driven by a 66-year-old resident of a village in the Stryi district, collided with a Nissan Teana, driven by a 46-year-old resident of Khodoriv.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the Mazda 2 and a passenger in the Nissan Teana, a 20-year-old resident of the Stryi region, sustained bodily injuries and were hospitalized.
Based on the facts, investigators from Police Department No.2 of the Stryi District Police initiated criminal proceedings under part 1 of Article 286 “Violation of traffic safety regulations” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is up to three years of restricted freedom, with the right to drive vehicles revoked for up to three years.
Law enforcement is currently establishing the circumstances of the incident.
