The detainee faces up to fifteen years of imprisonment for the crime.
As the law enforcement officers established, on October 15, around 1 p.m., in one of the villages of the Lviv district, a conflict arose between two men, local residents aged 30 and 47, during which the older man stabbed the younger man five times in the chest and neck, after which fled the scene. Later, the victim was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Criminal police operatives and investigators of police department No. 2 of Lviv district police department No. 1 were involved in solving the crime.
Through the conducted measures, the law enforcement officers established the location of the perpetrator and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The detention was carried out with the support of soldiers of the special purpose police battalion of the Lviv region police.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under part 3 of article 15 part 1 of article 115 (Attempt to murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to fifteen years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
