The traffic accident happened today, September 22, at around 6:50 a.m., on the Lviv – Shehyny highway in the village of Bartativ, Lviv district
As previously determined by law enforcement officers, a collision took place between a Volkswagen Passat driven by a 27-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv region and a Nissan X-trail driven by a 46-year-old resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The Volkswagen driver lost control and drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a Nissan.
The driver of the “Nissan” died of his injuries at the scene, the second driver was hospitalized with injuries.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
