
In the Lviv region, police uncovered a perpetrator who inflicted fatal injuries on his acquaintance.
A conflict between the man and the woman arose due to jealousy. For the committed crime, the suspect faces a penalty of up to ten years of imprisonment. As established by the operatives of the criminal police in conjunction with investigators and other officers of the Sheptytskyi district police department, the incident occurred on December 26 at around 21:30 in an apartment on Chornovola Street in the city of Sheptytsky.
A conflict arose between a 37-year-old local resident and his 38-year-old acquaintance, during which the man inflicted two stab wounds with a sharp object in the chest area, damaging internal organs, which led to acute blood loss and death.
Investigators of the territorial police unit informed the perpetrator of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 121 (‘Intentional grievous bodily harm’) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction stipulates a penalty of imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
Pre-trial investigation continues, the court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect – detention. Procedural supervision is conducted by the Sheptytsky district prosecutor’s office.
