A cyclist died in a road accident in the Lviv region – law enforcement officers are investigating
The traffic accident happened on July 13, around 7:20 a.m., on Chornovola Avenue in Stryu.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a “Peugeot Expert” car driven by a 48-year-old resident of Stryi district and a bicycle driven by a 63-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the cyclist received serious injuries and died at the scene.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
