At the “Uhryniv” checkpoint, Carpathian detachment border guards uncovered an attempt to transport tobacco products across the state border. During the inspection of a “Renault” minibus, they discovered 520 packs of cigarettes hidden in the vehicle’s ceiling.
A businesswoman and car owner, a 32-year-old resident of the Volyn region, claimed she was travelling to the Polish locality of Dolhobychiv, supposedly to visit acquaintances. The discovered cigarettes, which lacked excise stamps, were confiscated and handed over to the customs warehouse. This operation was conducted in cooperation with customs officers.
