The importance of this news lies in the exposure of a serious corruption scheme that threatened security and order. A former serviceman of the regional TCC and SP in Uzhhorod is suspected of having received improper gains linked with extortion. Organisers aged 23 and 30 offered clients official draft notices for 1.7 thousand US dollars and to change military registration locations without the actual presence of conscripts.
These notices allowed individuals to carry them and thereby prevent mobile groups from serving new ones, as well as freely cross checkpoints at the border. In one of the episodes, the organisers offered a businessman to resolve the removal from search for four of his employees for 6.8 thousand dollars.
Law enforcement officers are currently working to establish all the circumstances and bring those responsible to justice. This situation has raised questions about the shortcomings in the system of military conscript registration and control mechanisms.
