
An explosion occurred in a residential building in Lviv region, leading to a fire and injuries.
On February 13 at 6:09 PM, the Rescue Service received a report of an explosion in a residential building on Lvivska Street in the city of Yavoriv. As a result of the incident, a one-story brick house was partially destroyed, and a fire broke out. There were also reports of a noticeable smell of gas.
Firefighting and rescue units from Lviv region arrived at the scene. According to preliminary data, a gas-air mixture explosion occurred in the house. At the time of the incident, an 83-year-old man was inside the house, and an 80-year-old woman was in the yard. Neighbors removed the man from the partially destroyed premises before the rescuers arrived.
Medics working at the scene examined and provided first aid to the victims. The man, diagnosed with an open fracture of the right shin and burns to the face, both hands, and shins, was hospitalized in the burn unit of the regional clinical hospital in Lviv. The woman, diagnosed with hypertension (acute stress reaction), was taken to Yavoriv Regional Hospital.
At 6:41 PM, firefighters localized the fire, and at 7:18 PM, it was extinguished. Specialists are determining the causes and circumstances of the incident.
